Pro-Bono Consulting Program

Are you an innovator or problem-solver who wants to apply themselves in a new context? Do you want to improve your collaboration and critical-thinking skills, and make a difference to local start-ups, small businesses, and not-for-profits?

Our pro-bono consulting program provides students real-world briefs for them to solve with their team. It’s a unique, hands-on opportunity for students to learn, but it’s also fun and engaging, with student consultants forming friendships with like-minded members.

Consultants participate in relevant workshops, learning insight from industry representatives and UTSCC Executive members, and use these to develop solutions that are creative and innovative, as well as justified and strategic. Consultant teams then pitch their solutions in our much-loved Consultant Cup, where students deliver a ten-minute pitch to Strategy& representatives and UTSCC members.

The 12-week program also offers student consultants the opportunity to learn transferable skills relevant to future university and career opportunities, such as hypothesis based problem-solving, solution validation and slide design

UTSCC welcomes students from all years and faculties. If you’re looking to grow your network, learn more about the consulting industry, and develop your problem-solving skills, then we strongly recommend that you apply to join UTSCC’s consulting program.

Our application process is designed to assess students’ teamwork and problem-solving skills, and to determine if they’re appropriate for our group-based program. The application process includes an application screening and an assessment centre, as this is similar to how consulting firms recruit interns and graduates.
