What Happened in August
Over the 6th to the 8th of August, UTSCC held three assessment centres to recruit for the semester two consultant program!
The assessment centres consisted of an overview and introduction to UTSCC and our 12-week student consulting program. In addition to a group case study, presentation and Q&A to a panel of UTSCC exec’s. Then the final component of the AC’s was an individual behavioural interview with UTSCC execs.
All the exec’s were extremely impressed by everyone's preparation, innovative solutions, and overall talent - which made it extremely difficult to narrow down to a final group of 30 consultants for the program!
Assessment Centres
On Friday the 12th of August, UTSCC was thrilled to kick off the Semester 2 consultant program with our induction night to welcome all new consultants to the club!
Our consultants got the chance to meet their fellow peers within the club, and were introduced to their teams and clients which they will be working with for the duration of the program.
The event also gave a breakdown of key dates and tools to assist consultants in their preparation, and outlined how consultants can get the most out of the program through highlighting the roles of Team Leaders, Engagement Managers and Executives who are readily available to assist consultants throughout their twelve-week journey.
We warmly congratulate our newly recruited consultants, and are looking forward to an exciting semester ahead!
Consultant Induction
Our wonderful consultants got together on Thursday the 18th of August to participate in their first workshop of the semester! The event was joined by special guests Anthony, Michelle, Joyce, Hayes, Jye and Daniel from PWC Strategy&.
They were kind enough to share their experiences in their careers involving consulting and understanding the problem space. Their insights were deeply valuable, sharing their own tips and tricks on how to nail a situation analysis. Guided by our special guests, our consultants applied this knowledge to form an analysis on their problem space concerning their clients.
We would like to thank Strategy& for giving up their time to mentor our consultants and we look forward to seeing how the consultant teams will apply this knowledge in preparation for Workshop Two!

Careers in Consulting: Introduction to Consulting
On the 30th of August, UTSCC, in collaboration with UTS Business Society, TD Connect and UTS Startup Link, held the exciting Pitch & Pitcher event at the UTS Underground!
Pitch & Pitcher was a micro hackathon for aspiring entrepreneurs and Shark Tank enthusiasts, where students worked in teams of four to develop a two-minute elevator pitch on a relevant problem space and had the opportunity to demonstrate their business ventures to industry representatives.
The event enabled students to enhance their problem solving, and collaborative skills, and gain valuable exposure to the competitive start-up industry, all while enjoying some delicious food and drinks!
It was a fantastic night and we’re keen for more exciting events to come!
