Consultant Workshop One: Problem Breakdown

In our first consultant workshop for the semester held yesterday via zoom, our student consultants were firstly introduced to the consulting process. Teams were guided through the framework and structure they will utilise through the program.

Consultants additionally learnt the key tools used to breakdown the client situation and conducted a SWOT analysis in their teams to identify their clients core strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats from their brief.

The workshop also outlined how to construct problem trees to break down their clients' problems into mutually exclusive and collectively exhaustive (MECE) parts. Teams had the opportunity to share these problem trees and ask questions to industry representatives.

Lastly, the consultants undertook a Q&A with PWC Strategy& representatives to learn more about the consulting industry and gain some advice for starting a career in the field.

A big thank you to all those who attended and helped organise the event!
